Dr Ebenezer Laryea

Dr Ebenezer Laryea graduated from the University of Southampton with an LLB in 2011. In the months following his graduation, he returned to the University of Southampton in the same year to pursue an LLM degree programme in Maritime Law. Upon completion of his LLM Martime Law qualification at the University of Southampton, Ebenezer briefly joined Seafarer’s Rights International (SRI) in London where his main task focused on legal research and case work – following which he returned to the University of Southampton to pursue a PhD in Law. Ebenezer’s thesis focused on how harmoniums legal-decision making can be helpful in preventing wrongful convictions and miscarriages of justice and was awarded in July of 2016.

Ebenezer has previously taught at the University of Southampton, University of Portsmouth and Queen Mary University in London. Ebenezer is currently a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Northampton and a member of the University’s Centre for Sustainable Business Practice (CSBP) within the Faulty of Business and Law.

Ebenezer’s main research interests are in International Sustainable Development Law (and its associated areas), Miscarriages of Justice, Criminal Law, Trusts Law, Intellectual Property and Maritime Law. He is currently working alongside colleagues within the University’s Centre for Sustainable Business Practice (CSBP) on a number of externally funded collaborative research projects which are having a high social and environmental impact, and are helping  bringing research to a new audience.
